The Gift of a Safe Country
“I can’t find my bag.”
We searched her office. Nothing.
No handbag.
No keys.
She traced back her steps. She’d driven into Dempsey Hill that morning, parked, locked her car, and coached several clients.
Distressed, she walked back to the car, hoping the bag might somehow be inside, even though she clearly remembered locking it. She wasn’t sure how she’d even get in.
And there it was.
Her handbag was sitting on the roof of the car!
It had been there the entire workday.
If this were a one-off, I’d call it astonishing luck.
But I’ve heard several versions of this story.
